EAST COAST OF MARTINIQUE! France in the Caribbean

Last few months have been a lot more about exploring than sailing. We only made one passage from Saint Lucia in June. Since then we have been exploring East coast of Martinique. We wanted to do that for many years, but it was always the weather or schedule that kept us away from there. So finally we are making small jumps between the small island and numerous, pretty bays. Now for some time we have been anchored close to Francois – probably the largest town on the East coast. Home to an excellent fish market and good place for provisioning the boat. We also spend time exploring the local nature. Today we climb probably steepest mountain in Martinique that has an official hiking trail set up along with the ropes and anchors on the rocks. There are also numerous paths with anchors in the rock wall for the serious rock climbers. We’ll take the hiking trail through the tropical forest with kids. As it turns out it’s challenging enough.
